If you've done individual counselling in the past, you know that your counsellor focuses on your needs and helps you to work through your concerns, barriers, and obstacles to improve your life. There are a variety of techniques, skills, and modalities that are most effective in individual therapy. Couples counselling, by contrast, places the focus on the relationship, exploring barriers and obstacles to relationship building, communication, and cohesion. The counsellor will see the couple together or as individuals depending on the specific issues the relationship is working through and where they are in the clinical treatment plan.

Regardless of whether the counsellor is working with the couple together or separately, the counsellor's "client" is the relationship. Your counsellor therefore cannot hold information that impacts the relationship, and individuals should be aware that this information may need to be shared with their partner to continue therapy. The counsellor will work to empower individuals to share challenging information with their partner through the therapeutic process.

Please note that all in-person sessions are hosted at 206-347 Leon Ave., Kelowna, BC. You will receive the address and a map in your email upon confirmation.

If you want a virtual session, please discuss it with your counsellor (particularly if it's your first virtual session) so they can send everyone involved a meeting link.

Life can be hard, and it takes courage to start therapy. The very fact that you are considering it means you are getting ready to make some changes, and I’m here to help you.

I have years of experience working for clients utilizing an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens, and enjoy collaborating with clients of all ages, experiences, and identities. I am a therapist with a multicultural background who immigrated to Canada over a decade ago.

I offer therapy services in English, French, and Spanish, because I understand the importance of language and culture in the therapy process.

I will hold space for everything you bring to our sessions together, and support you as you peel back the layers and make the tough (and rewarding) changes you want. I deeply value working with folks with complex backgrounds and life experiences. My personal experience as a neurodivergent adult allows me to connect deeply to my clients.

My goal is to create a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that will support all my clients on their journey. Call for a free, initial phone consultation to see if we are a good match.

LGBTQIA2S+ affirming. Kink and Poly friendly. I look forward to talking with you soon!

Life brings many amazing moments. Unfortunately, those amazing moments are often surrounded by the challenging ones, the sad ones, the frustrating ones, and all the other ones in between. Regardless of what kind of moment you’re experiencing, having someone to support you while you process, celebrate, manage, or understand these moments is crucial. Whether you’re coping or facing an unexpected challenging life event, have begun feeling overwhelmed with all the emotions, are struggling to find a balance between various aspects of your life, or just need someone to talk to, your journey to reaching a calmer, more balanced future begins with Inner Resonance Counselling.

I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. I’ve also been fortunate to have taken a plethora of training and certification opportunities in crisis response, mediation, paramedicine, and leadership.

I found my passion for helping people through turmoil and hardship early in my career. I worked in crisis response and coaching for young adults and their families for a decade, supporting people through some of the worst moments of their lives. I’ve worked with individuals with diverse needs, many experiencing mental health crises. I moved into a role providing clinical oversight to youth with complex needs, behavioural challenges, and serving trauma and attachment injuries outside of working with folks like you. Outside of private practice, I also work with youth and young adults through trauma and education work.

Some of my focus areas for counselling include crisis counselling, 2SLGBTQ+ support, men’s counselling, trauma counselling (acute or historic), grief and loss counselling, anxiety, depression, youth & adolescence counselling, and addictions counselling. I work with individuals of all age groups, despite my experiences lending to younger populations.
